The Kentucky Governor's race is positioned to be the most competitive election of 2007, and one that will no doubt be a bellweather for the Democrats' prospects heading into 2008. The KY GOP is in the midst of a civil war, with indicted Governor Ernie Fletcher now facing a primary against Mitch McConnell's hand-picked candidate, former Rep. Anne Northup...fresh off her defeat to John Yarmuth.
Its important that the Netroots act now and support efforts that Kentucky activists (even some Conservative Republicans who support Fletcher) are taking to ensure that Northup does not build too much strength from defeating the corrupt Governor and cementing her image as a corruption free candidate.
This is why we must join together to help the Google-bombing campaign against Northup, and now her running mate Jeff Hoover, that was started by Chris Bowers before the 2006 election. The new website: NorthupHoover.com highlights Northup's past scandal when she asked the FCC to do favors for her husband's company without disclosing her connection. The website was featured in the Bluegrassreport.org and even in Conservative blogs such as KyPolitics.org .
